Argentina were both hosts and champions of the 1978 World Cup, a competition in which they established themselves as an international football powerhouse. The Argentines scored twelve goals in six matches on their way to the final, where they faced an intimidating squad from the Netherlands. After a 1-1 end to normal time, Mario Kempes and Daniel Bertoni each scored in extra time to clinch Argentina’s first World Cup win.
The Argentinian football team is known as La Albiceleste for this iconic style of “sky blue and white” shirts, and this kit is a part of that heritage. On the body of the shirt, the simple blue and white vertical stripe pattern is a timeless design, and is still used by Argentina in some of their modern kits. This 1978 World Cup was the last global competition where Argentina featured this simple “AFA” badge, as they opted to enhance the badge with more colour and embroidery in later years.
This jersey has been remade with impeccable attention to detail. It features the same collar, sleeving, ridges and embroidery as the original.
Printing is done in the original style, as close to the authentic font and colour as possible. If the jersey originally had the number printed on the front we will print this unless instructed otherwise.
Please check the measurements carefully as most people find they require a size up. The jerseys have a slim or muscle fit.

Nice top, unfortunately, definitely not what I would call an XXL. Too small for that so I won't be wearing it unless I lose a stone in weight.
